Wow. It's the 3rd of August. Countdown to school begins. Tiger's Eye leaves on the 20th for Hawaii (!!) where he will meet up with his uncle, the F-18 pilot, to get on board the USS Stennis for a cruise from Hawaii to San Diego. It's called a "Tiger Cruise," and this Tigress couldn't be more proud or happy for Tiger's Eye. He's going to miss the first week of school, but, in the big scheme of things, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that he cannot miss. I mean, he's going to be on an aircraft carrier, watching day-to-day Navy activities AND watch pilots land on the boat. Can we say way too cool? Mr. Sapphire is buying him an extra-large memory card for the camera, and it better come back full!
MOST RECENT PLUG: www.projectplaylist.com. This is a great place to find just about any song you want. KitKat's filling her playlist with Final Fantasy tunes; I'm filling mine with those hard-to-find 80s tunes like Siouxsie and the Banshees. It's all free, and you can create as many playlists as you want.
MOST RECENT GOOD NEWS: Two other job offers, which I turned down. I am very, very content with being a subcontractor! I have decided that you can't put a price on time, nor can you put a price on peace of mind. I work for a company on this side of the river and another on the other side of the river, and I still have the surgical center. I am quite happy with the arrangement, and because all are call-in systems, I can go anywhere and keep my jobs. Life is good. And they like me. And they have lots of work.
MOST RECENT ADVENTURES: None. I've been here. Too busy to blog, but happily making money with the kids bouncing in and out to make sure I'm alive and poke me with sticks occasionally. Oh, a snake got loose and we haven't found him yet. It's funny; it doesn't bother Tiger's Eye a bit, even though it's running around his sleeping territory. My kids are awesome.
MOST RECENT GERBIL NEWS: None. They're all good.
MOST RECENT RANTING STUFF: Plenty! Ameren is run by a bunch of crooks, and they all have their hands around the wallets of our elected officials. There's a bill up to revamp all the progress Illinois has made with the malpractice lawsuits, which could mean another mass migration of our Illinois physicians to across the river, or early retirement for those who stay. Right now, subcontracting is just not fun, it's an astute business decision. Our property taxes are up, even though several houses in our neighborhood have been foreclosed on. Yeah, that makes sense. Lawmakers are voting themselves all kinds of raises because they have to get more money for increased gasoline prices and power bills, but us? They just take our money and run. This is a family blog, so I'm shutting my proverbial mouth right now.
That's all I have for now. Try Project Playlist. It's awesome.
