Can you spot the kid in this picture?
If you look carefully, you'll see my grandfather, my "Pop," in the background. The two featured in this pic here have two things in common. One is "2" and the other 9"2", and they both will do almost anything for attention! Okay, that's not entirely correct. The young one doesn't beg.
Well, Pop doesn't either. He just strings us along with the candy in his pockets, you know, the old carrot-in-front-of-the-nose thing. I got two butterscotches off him :)
Actually, this is a better pic of Pop:
He's trying to get my nephew's attention. This is my sister's new place of employment. She's now a "server" (gag -- I was a waitress, dangit) and it's a nice, down-home restaurant. Pop didn't like the crispy American fries. He complained to our erstwhile server, who looked very disappointed. I very much enjoyed the crispy delights, personally.
Speaking of Kaplan:
He's getting so big. My sister is, too. Look for Kaplan's sibling soon! Early October.
HoooooooooooKay. I promised you good and bad. Above, good. Below, bad:
Awesome picture, I know. Problem is...I didn't take it. The kids ditched me and went to the zoo. Tiger's Eye took the polar bear picture, and KitKat got me this gem:
The tigers will get their own blog. I'm just weird that way, I guess. So, they left me, I worked, I slept a bit, I played with the gerbils. They can now do the wheel two at a time, but one usually gets ahead of the other and one goes flying. I know, cheap entertainment, but, hey, I'm on a budget.
Did I mention St. Louis Zoo is free? For $5 per person, the in-zoo train will run you around unlimited times, and the specialty houses are reasonably priced. As always, the snake house is free. My kids didn't get any pics there; my sister won't go near the place. Given that she's got a Buddha bump, she wins!
For clarification, I have three sisters. Only one is pregnant. One is working as a "server" and her twin is hopping from town to town doing cheerleading clinics. That's going to end soon, though, and we'll probably drag Atch back kicking and screaming from the top of her pyramid. If she doesn't kick and scream, it won't be any fun.
