Bill Grosvenor's WWII heroics

This is a man I always knew as "Mr. Bill." I spent a lot of time with this gentleman, whom I saw as sort of a surrogate for the grandparents that lived Illinois. In fact, my visiting Grandpa took me for a walk in the neighborhood and I darted off, and just walked into his home, I was such a regular. When I was six, apparently I was very aware that my mom was pregnant, and just ran out of the house, and his house was the first place they always looked. I loved, loved, loved this man and his lovely wife.

So, this was really cool. My mom called me all excited. She really, really missed my dad last night, because he would have been so enthralled. I think she's going to buy it or at least find out its next airing on PBS so she can record it, but this is just way cool. I hung out with a war hero, and didn't even realize it. I just remember drinking tea in his garden, and loving being there.
